150 Locals

Portraits of Glebe

Under the auspices of The Glebe Chamber of Commerce, North and fellow photographer Tom Psomotragos are busy capturing portraits of local Glebe identities for a major three month public exhibition.

Entitled 150 Locals the project documents the breadth and depth of the area’s diverse population from the energetic children to the celebrated artists and musicians, from the colourful shopkeepers and baristas to the dedicated clergy.

The photographs were printed life-size on canvas and have appeared on walls, in shopwindows, on balconies and bridges throughout the suburb in the spring of 2009.

The unprecedented suburb-wide exhibition forms part of the celebrations for Glebe’s 150 year anniversary.
